Search Assistant is a way of making your results more precise according to
your search criteria using specific keywords.
How to use Search Assistant.
Add a specific keyword to your search to narrow the results.
These keywords include:

Chapter
-
General Information
-
College
-
Department
-
Major
-
Degree
-
Certificate
-
Endorsement
-
Credential
-
Minor
-
Option
-
Course
When to use Search Assistant.
Use it when trying to find information under a specific area
designated by the keywords above. The search will look for the remainder
of your search under that heading.

(EX. "Spanish Major" will search for Spanish under
the Major field and return with the Spanish Major rather than other
departments or Colleges)
When not to use Search Assistant.
Do not use Search Assistant when trying to search for specific phrases or
words. It will do a literal search of the criteria entered.

(EX. With Search Assistant on when you enter graduate majors it will
return majors with graduate degrees rather than information on graduate degrees
and majors)
How to turn Search Assistant on and off.
Uncheck the box in the course search with the label "Use Search Assistant" in
the General Searcher. This will turn Search Assistant off and do a
regular search.
